The Brighter Side of COVID-19
This COVID-19 has taught us something very important. Whether you live in Tokyo or Timbaktu, Orlando or Phorlando, Santa Barbara or Kanta Barbara, Mumbai or Phumbai, Antarctica-Phantartica or Greenland-Blueland you cannot hide from this virus. It will reach your city somehow. Now, if you closely follow the recovery stories of Bhilwara (Rajasthan, India), Daegu (South Korea) - it boils down to just few basic things.
I do not mean to sound like the pandemic is over and we can celebrate. My point is having know and having seen the system, I am quite surprised that the law enforcement agencies are simply doing a fantastic job and coming with new ideas to ensure the rules laid down are followed. On the other side I see our fellow citizens surprisingly tackling the whole fiasco in a matured way. I hardly see any people venturing out unnecessarily.
Despite some silly incidents like attacking a neighbor who happens to be a doctor and few infortunate incidents of calling my North Eastern Brothers and Sisters as "Corono" or even going to the extent of spitting at them or not allowing them to enter the store, I don't see anyone complaining at all. Mind you this is the same people who refuses to wear helmets, stop at a traffic light, do not mind littering, cannot understand the impact of waste segregation at source despite so many campaigns. Maybe COVID-19 is different.
I may choose not to follow what the government is saying. But this time my life is at stake and yes not just my life, but my own family and the entire community at large. Does this mean COVID-19 has managed to wake up the patriotism that was somehow non-existent so far?? Does this mean we decided to choose to be loyal to the government for a change?
Let me end here with few lines from 1869 poem that doing the rounds. And made new choices And dreamed of new visions And created new ways of healing And completely healed the earth Just as they were healed. Please enjoy your second lockdown dry- Friday. I feel as though mine is the third one. Happy Friday!! Cheers!!

- The seriousness of the leaders in tackling such a crisis.
- The response by the common public in terms of following what they have told - self prevention, no breaking rules of breakdown, etc.
- And above all, the response team and the health workers dedication and commitment. To me while the numbers are growing, India is doing quite well compared to do many other countries.
